I think that it is difficult for Melinda to tell her parents there is something wrong because she already is a private person and her problem seems to be extremely private. I would help melinda if she came to me seeking help. I would talk to her and let her know that she could trust in me to say what happened. I guess that it would be realistic to think that some highschoolers avoid school when they have personal problems. But I personally would never skip school for personal problems like Melinda.
